The Tylo sauna recall has been expanded after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the repair offered in the 2025 recall was ineffective. If your affected Tylö Halmstad or Kiruna Hybrid sauna is within the current recall, CPSC says to stop using it immediately even if you already received the earlier repair and to contact Sauna360 for another free professional repair.
What changed in the Tylo sauna recall
The original October 2025 recall covered about 1,000 Tylö Halmstad and Kiruna Hybrid sauna rooms because the wooden benches could collapse and create a fall hazard. The remedy at that time was a professional retrofit using additional hardware.
The September 17, 2026 expansion changes that answer. CPSC now says the previous recall repair was ineffective. The expanded recall covers about 6,000 units, and owners of affected saunas are being told to stop use again and receive a new repair.
Who needs to check their sauna again
The expanded recall covers specified serial-number ranges of Tylö Halmstad 2, Halmstad 3, Halmstad 4, Kiruna Hybrid 2 and Kiruna Hybrid 3 sauna rooms. Owners should use the current CPSC recall table to verify the exact model and serial number rather than relying only on the model family name.
For Halmstad models, the identification label is located beneath the upper bench on the left side, above the electrical contactor box. For Kiruna Hybrid models, it is on the right wall beneath the right side of the upper bench.
What to do if you already received the 2025 repair
Do not assume the previous repair completes the recall action. CPSC specifically says affected consumers should stop using the sauna even if they received the 2025 remedy. Sauna360 is offering another free professional repair that uses additional hardware and supports.
The evidence reviewed does not establish how quickly every owner can obtain the new repair or whether the replacement remedy has yet accumulated enough field history to establish its long-term effectiveness. Owners should therefore follow the current official recall instructions rather than treating the new repair as already proven beyond the recall programme.
How the incident picture changed
Current CPSC-derived recall records report 77 additional incidents involving sauna benches breaking and six injuries. Reported injuries include head and neck injuries and a sprained ankle. The evidence reviewed does not establish that all six injuries occurred after a previously repaired unit failed, so that should not be inferred.
This is separate from Sauna360’s infrared fire recall
Sauna360 was also involved in a separate September 17 CPSC recall covering infrared saunas, hybrid infrared saunas and infrared kits because of short-circuit, overheating, fire and burn hazards. That is a different recall from this bench-collapse expansion, even though some Sauna360 or Tylö product families may appear across both safety actions.
If you own a Kiruna Hybrid or another potentially overlapping product, check the identification criteria in each relevant CPSC notice. Completing the bench-collapse remedy does not automatically resolve a separate infrared-panel fire or burn recall.
What owners should verify before using the sauna again
- Confirm the exact Tylö model name.
- Locate and record the full serial number.
- Check that serial number against the current expanded CPSC recall table.
- Stop using the sauna if it is within the recall, including if the 2025 repair was already completed.
- Contact Sauna360 for the new professional repair described in the current recall.
